Spring school holidays are five weeks out
Queensland breaks from 19 September to 5 October, New South Wales from 28 September. Morning airport runs in that window are the first thing to go, so it is worth getting the dates in now rather than in the last fortnight.

Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, 18 September to 5 October
The Carnival turns 77 this year and runs for a fortnight and a half across the Garden City. If you are after a spring weekend that is not the coast, this is the one worth a look.
