The Royal Queensland Show runs 8 to 16 August at the Brisbane Showgrounds, and this year marks 150 years. Expect full car parks, long queues around Bowen Hills, and rideshare pricing that climbs with the crowd.

Gold Coast line trackwork, 8 and 9 August
Rail buses replace trains between Helensvale and Varsity Lakes across that weekend. If you have a flight or a booking that depends on the Gold Coast line, allow extra time. Con-X-ion transfers run to the same schedule either way.
